Background

Gwendal Le Bihan and Edouard Danais met at the National Architecture School of Nantes (ENSA Nantes). Their collaboration started in 2018 during a residence of research on revalorisation of manual labour in contemporary construction. During this period, they were housed in a Metropole House made by Jean Prouvé, which will later influence their work.  

Signature

Voluntarily eclectic, Exercice’s production is situated at the border of architecture and design. Their projects highlight the expertise of craftsmen by the use of raw materials respecting a notion of material optimisation. 

Inspiration

Exercice’s projects are deeply inspired by Jean Prouvé’s. They appreciate its minimal style and material saving. Their creativity also comes from meetings with their craftsmen and visits of their workshops. In this way, Exercice visualize the whole production, from raw material extraction to its transformation.
