Helder Barbosa

BACKGROUND

Trained as a cabinet maker at École Boulle, Helder Barbosa founded his studio in 2017. Over the years, he collaborated with Parisian workshops and artists, refining his technical expertise across a wide range of materials. Today, he works between his studio and workshop, where experimentation plays a central role before engaging with craftsmen to bring his ideas into form.

SIGNATURE

Guided by a pursuit of simplicity, his work is defined by minimalist forms and precise lines. He investigates the intrinsic qualities of materials, their finishes and techniques, seeking a balanced and coherent aesthetic. Attention to movement and rhythm informs his creations, giving them a distinct identity where functionality meets a playful and colourful sensibility.

INSPIRATION

His influences span industrial processes, craftsmanship, architectural details and the colour language of modernist painting. Rooted in material exploration, his approach subtly reinterprets techniques and forms. Inspired by contemporary designers, his work unfolds as an ongoing research where function remains at the core.
