Studio BrichetZiegler

Studio BrichetZiegler
BACKGROUND
Caroline Ziegler studied at ESAD (Reims), and Pierre Brichet was graduated from ENSAD (Paris) after a degree in mechanical engineering. They met as they were part of a design collective and founded Studio BrichetZiegler in 2010. In 2017, they have been awarded the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris. Several of their products belong to French permanent collections like Mobilier National and CNAP. Their Ombre Portée table lamps are installed on the French President’s desk.
SIGNATURE
BrichetZiegler’s specific feature is a technical and poetic approach at the crossroads of industry and craft. As they are deeply attached to craftmanship, their workshop located in the French Alps is a place where they experiment shapes and several techniques.
INSPIRATION
Pierre and Caroline’s work is nourished as much by the designs of great Italian and Scandinavian masters as from sculptors and architects such as Isamu Noguchi, Richard Deacon or Carlo Scarpa. In addition to these founding references, they incorporate workshop researches that allows them to twist techniques and draw inspiration
